Ramit currently heads b8ta in the Middle East, a retail as a service company from Silicon Valley expanding their footprint in the region with the Chalhoub Group. b8ta’s mission is to make retail accessible for all by building a new type of retail store. In the past few months, b8ta has evolved their model and become a go-to platform for startups and innovators to seamlessly launch in the Middle East.

Prior to b8ta, Ramit was the VP & Head of MEA at HTC and his legacy with the premium smartphone and VR headset maker spans over 11 years. During that time, he has worked closely with various Government authorities and innovation partners—locally and internationally—to bring many technology firsts to the region. In particular, HTC Vive is the creator of the unprecedented PC-based virtual reality system, which was built and optimized for room-scale VR and true-to-life interactions.

Ramit is well known in the Middle East’s tech and retail industry for his experience and expertise in managing multimillion-dollar projects, Commercial Implementation of revolutionary experiences around Mixed Reality and mobility, working with Government bodies towards creating new ecosystems and building CXO level relationships to name a few.

His love for tech and entrepreneurship has led him to deliver multiple keynotes and participate in International panel discussions with industry leaders talking about Virtual Reality, E-Commerce, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Commerce, 5G, Startups and Hybrid Retail Business.

He also sits at the Board of Directors of TiE’s Dubai chapter and volunteers his time around initiatives that cultivate entrepreneurship in the region.
